Buyer - Procurement (Pharmaceuticals) | 9-Month Contract | Remote

Location: Fully Remote

The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a leading pharmaceutical organisation to recruit a Buyer on a 9-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and contribute to critical supply chain operations supporting life-saving products.

You will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services, while maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, RFQs, negotiation, and purchase order placement
• Procure raw materials, APIs, packaging, and indirect goods/services in line with business needs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers to ensure quality and continuity of supply
• Work cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with GMP/GxP requirements
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements where needed
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
• Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement activities
• Maintain accurate procurement data within ERP systems

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, ideally within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries
• Strong understanding of GMP/GxP environments
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Desirable

• Experience sourcing APIs, excipients, or packaging materials
• CIPS qualification (or working towards)
• Experience working with global suppliers
