About the Opportunity
The Area Manager will be responsible for driving commercial performance within the gynaecology segment of a specialised healthcare business unit. This role focuses on developing strong clinical partnerships, expanding market presence, and delivering sustained revenue growth across a national hospital network.
The position offers the opportunity to work closely with key clinical stakeholders while promoting solutions that positively impact patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drives revenue growth through proactive sales activities, including product demonstrations and consultative selling
- Takes full ownership of a national territory, identifying, managing, and converting opportunities into long-term business
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key decision-makers across hospital environments
- Delivers against defined quarterly and annual sales targets
- Provides expert support on clinical, technical, and commercial queries
- Develops and executes strategic territory and business plans
- Identifies new market opportunities and expands the existing customer base
- Monitors market trends and competitor activity, translating insights into actionable strategies
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to optimise product positioning and performance
- Supports new product launches and drives market adoption
- Represents the organisation at relevant industry events, conferences, and meetings
Performance Measures
Performance in this role will be assessed based on:
- Achievement of sales targets (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
- Pipeline generation and conversion rates
- Gross margin performance
- Accuracy in forecasting and demand planning
- Growth and performance of the product portfolio
- Customer engagement and market visibility
- Contribution to overall team performance and collaboration
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in medical device or healthcare sales within a hospital environment
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, including surgeons, senior nursing staff, and procurement teams
- Experience working in operating theatre environments is preferred
- Exposure to urology or related therapeutic areas is advantageous but not essential
- A clinical background is considered beneficial
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex solutions effectively
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently across a national territory
- Full driving licence required

- Strong understanding of sales and marketing within the medical device sector
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and convert a robust sales pipeline
- Proven track record of delivering consistent commercial growth
