Piping Turnover Engineer
EPM Scientific are partnered with a Life Sciences Consultancy supporting a major Pharmaceutical organisation in Germanty seeking a Freelance Turnover Piping Engineer.
Job Summary:
The Turnover Piping Engineer is responsible for ensuring all piping systems are installed, inspected, and tested according to project specifications, codes, and quality requirements.
The role ensures verification, documentation control, and structured turnover of piping systems from construction to commissioning. The Engineer coordinates with subcontractors, construction, and client teams to achieve compliance and readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management
* Lead audits, inspections, and surveillance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Provide oversight of welding, fabrication, installation, and testing.
* Coordinate with client quality personnel for inspections and approvals.
Piping Inspection & Verification
* Oversee inspections on piping materials, welds, supports, and routing.
* Monitor welding procedures, qualifications, and NDE NDT results.
* Review and approve pressure tests, flushing, and reinstatement.
Turnover and System Completion Support
* Lead piping system walkdowns and punch list closure.
* Track and manage NCRs and punch item resolution with subcontractors.
* Support readiness for Mechanical Completion (MC) and Pre-Commissioning.
Documentation & Handover
* Oversee review, compilation, and validation of piping documentation.
* Ensure delivery of complete and traceable TOPs.
* Support structured and timely handover with commissioning and document control
teams.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 12-18 months
- Location: Near Mainz, Germany
