Laboratory Manager - Clinical Laboratory
The opportunity We're supporting a global life sciences organisation that is expanding its laboratory operations in the Netherlands. They're looking for a Laboratory Manager to lead a clinical laboratory team as it grows.
The role combines hands-on leadership with real influence. You'll lead the team, shape how the lab works day to day, and help grow its capabilities over the coming years.
What you'll do
- Lead, develop and organise a team of laboratory analysts
- Run daily laboratory operations, including planning, sample flow, turnaround and capacity
- Develop and maintain workflows, procedures and documentation
- Make sure the lab works to the required quality standards and is ready for audits
- Help bring in new equipment, methods and systems
- Work closely with quality, project and operational colleagues
- Drive continuous improvement as the lab grows
What you'll bring
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree (HLO or WO) in life sciences, biomedical sciences or a related field
- At least 3 years' experience in a regulated clinical or diagnostic laboratory
- Hands-on experience in clinical laboratory testing
- Experience leading or coordinating a laboratory team
- Experience working in a regulated quality environment
- Fluent English and good Dutch
- Practical, organised and hands-on, and comfortable in a growing environment
Nice to have
- Experience expanding a laboratory or introducing new analysers or methods
- Experience in a CRO, central laboratory or other industry lab
- Experience with a laboratory information management system (LIMS)
