Role Overview:

A growing specialty pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced Key Account Director to lead strategic engagement with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), health systems, and large provider organizations. This highly visible role will focus on expanding patient access, estabilshing pathways and protocols, strengthening executive-level relationships, and driving the successful adoption of innovative therapies within complex healthcare systems.
The Key Account Director will work cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, and Patient Support teams to develop and execute strategic account plans that improve business performance and support patient access initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health System Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare executives, pharmacy leaders, medical directors, and other decision-makers within assigned accounts.
  • Market Access Strategy: Support customer understanding of clinical value, economic outcomes, and patient access opportunities through compliant and impactful engagement.
  • Business Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans designed to maximize access, adoption, and long-term business growth.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, and Patient Support teams to coordinate customer-focused strategies and initiatives.
  • Customer Insights: Analyze market trends, formulary developments, policy changes, and healthcare system priorities to identify opportunities and business risks.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate productive interactions between internal subject matter experts and key customer stakeholders to drive engagement and value creation.
  • Performance Optimization: Utilize account management tools, analytics, and strategic resources to improve business outcomes and customer experience.
  • Compliance: Conduct all activities in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.


Experience and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 12 years of successful pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty healthcare, or related industry experience.
  • Key Account Expertise: Significant experience managing Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), health systems, large provider groups, or other complex healthcare organizations.
  • Executive Relationships: Demonstrated success engaging C-Suite & D-Suite executives including pharmacy directors, medical directors, executive leadership, and other high-level healthcare stakeholders.
  • Proven Performance: Consistent record of meeting or exceeding business objectives and delivering measurable results.
  • Strategic Leadership: Strong analytical, project management, business planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Collaboration: Ability to succeed within a fast-paced, highly matrixed cross-functional environment.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel approximately 60-80% as required.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license and residence within the supported territory.


Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $210,000 - $240,000 base salary (Exact compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and geographic location).
  • Incentive Compensation: Eligible for annual bonus opportunities and long-term incentive programs.
