Head of Tumour Immunology (Director)
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of scientific strategies for target identification, pathway validation, and mechanism-of-action studies across immuno-oncology programs.
- Develop and optimize in vitro and in vivo assays to evaluate therapeutic targets and support preclinical research activities.
- Analyze, interpret, and present scientific findings to cross-functional teams and senior leadership, driving data-based decision making.
- Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to researchers, fostering collaboration and high-quality execution of research programs.
- Drive discovery and early development efforts for antibody-based immunotherapies, including multispecific and T-cell engager platforms.
- Establish and manage collaborations with academic institutions, CROs, and industry partners to accelerate research objectives.
- Identify emerging scientific opportunities and contribute to portfolio strategy, project initiation, and innovation planning.
- Ensure research programs are executed efficiently to meet key milestones and organizational goals.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent qualification in Immunology, Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related discipline, with significant postdoctoral and/or industry experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic settings.
- Proven experience serving as Project Leader for multispecific antibody programs, including bispecific antibodies, with progression to at least IND-enabling or IND submission stages.
- Strong scientific expertise in immuno-oncology, immunotherapy, and/or T-cell engager (TCE) development, with the ability to identify and evaluate novel therapeutic opportunities.
- Hands-on experience in target discovery, cell and molecular immunology, assay development, and translational research.
- Advanced laboratory skills including multi-parameter flow cytometry, immune cell phenotyping, tissue processing, and functional immunology assays.
- Demonstrated success leading highly skilled scientific teams within a fast-paced, innovative research environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
