About the Role
We're seeking a visionary Director of Product Development to lead the charge in designing, developing, and delivering next-generation robotic surgical instruments. This is a high-impact leadership role where innovation meets execution. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams to bring transformative products from concept to commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for robotic surgical instruments, from concept through launch
- Define and drive product strategy, roadmaps, and development timelines
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and product managers
- Partner with clinical and regulatory teams to ensure compliance and usability
- Translate surgeon and market needs into innovative, manufacturable solutions
- Manage budgets, resources, and risk across multiple development programs
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in medical device product development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of bringing complex Class II/III devices to market (robotics experience strongly preferred)
- Deep understanding of FDA regulations, ISO standards, and design controls
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
