Director, Global Project Managerment Office
The Opportunity
A global leader in clinical diagnostics is looking for a Director, Global PMO to build, shape and lead its Global Operations Project & Portfolio Management Office.
This is a rare opportunity to do more than run a PMO - you'll build one from the ground up. You'll define the standards, tools and methodology that an entire global operations function relies on, whilst leading and developing a team of talented Project Managers delivering the projects that genuinely move the business forward.
If you're a project leader who wants visibility, influence and the chance to create something lasting within a world-class diagnostics organisation, this could be your next move.
What You'll Do
- Build and scale the future Global Operations PMO - its infrastructure, processes, capabilities and talent.
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of Project Managers, helping them realise their potential whilst ensuring projects deliver their full benefits.
- Embed best-in-class project and programme management standards, tools and methodology across the organisation.
- Drive Project and Portfolio KPIs, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning and delivery excellence.
- Oversee delivery of complex regional and global projects - technical and non-technical - on time, in scope and on budget.
- Engage senior stakeholders, presenting progress, proposals and strategy to project teams, sponsors, steering committees and executive leadership.
What You'll Bring
- Significant project management experience (typically 12-14+ years) leading large, complex operations and/or R&D programmes.
- A strong track record of managing, mentoring and developing Project Managers within a global, matrixed environment.
- Experience gained within a regulated diagnostics or medical device environment (manufacturing, R&D or engineering).
- Hands-on experience of design changes and technology transfer programmes.
- Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
- Project Management qualifications (e.g. PMP) preferred; experience with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies is a strong advantage.
