Role Overview

A Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting piping installation, mechanical completion, and commissioning readiness by ensuring testing/acceptance documentation is complete, walkdowns are executed, and handover packages are prepared and controlled.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve Site Acceptance Test (SAT) documentation for piping installation.
  • Participate in line walks and verification activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT 1a/1b), Mechanical Completion (MC) checks, and punch-list closure support.
  • Arrange, compile, and review handover documentation/packages to support turnover to commissioning/operations.
  • Maintain overview and follow-up of Site Change Control (SCC) / change requests impacting the piping scope.
  • Maintain overview of sub-scope deliverables and progress tracking against P&IDs (including mark-ups/as-built status, where applicable).

Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • Experience with piping installation, QA/QC documentation, and turnover/handover processes in industrial projects (e.g., pharma, oil & gas, energy, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs and piping documentation (isometrics, material traceability, test packs, punch lists).
  • Familiarity with FAT/SAT processes and Mechanical Completion (MC) workflows.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

  • Strong attention to detail and document quality mindset.
  • Structured follow-up and progress reporting; ability to manage multiple parallel activities.
  • Clear communication with contractors, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in the field (walkdowns) as well as with documentation systems.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying risks and deviations.
