Job Description: Electrical Engineer (Freelance - AIMD/MedTech)
Contract: 9‑month initial contract (extension possible)
Start: ASAP
Location: Hybrid - minimum 3 days/week on‑site in Clonmel, Ireland

Overview
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong PCB design experience and a background in Active Implantable Medical Devices (AIMDs).
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain design test files, verification documents, and integration test protocols
- Conduct PCB layout reviews, minor updates, and controlled documentation changes using Altium
- Support electrical integration testing and design verification activities
- Update and maintain electrical design inputs, specifications, and traceability documentation
- Contribute to updates of risk management documentation including Design FMEA
- Work closely with mechanical, QA/RA, firmware, and systems teams
- Ensure all work complies with AIMD standards (ISO 14708, IEC 60601) and ISO 13485
Key Requirements
- Strong experience with Altium for PCB design and updates
- Hands‑on experience with PCB layout and development
- Background in AIMDs (urology implant experience is advantageous)
- Strong understanding of risk management, design documentation, and Design FMEA
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup with a minimum of 3 days/week on‑site in Clonmel
