Haematococcus Production Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Haematococcus Production Supervisor to play a key role in establishing and leading production operations focused on the cultivation of Haematococcus pluvialis and the manufacture of natural astaxanthin products.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day cultivation and production activities for Haematococcus pluvialis.
- Lead production teams in achieving operational, quality, and safety targets.
- Support commissioning, start-up, and scale-up activities for a new production facility.
- Monitor culture performance, productivity, and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food, nutraceutical, or biotechnology manufacturing standards.
- Work closely with process development, engineering, and quality teams.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience cultivating Haematococcus pluvialis.
- Strong understanding of astaxanthin production processes.
- Experience within microalgae, algal biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, fermentation, or bioprocess manufacturing environments.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within production operations.
- Knowledge of scale-up, process optimisation, and commercial manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Lisbon, Portugal.
Desirable
- Experience with photobioreactors and/or open pond cultivation systems.
- Background in nutraceutical, food ingredient, biotechnology, or aquaculture production.
- Experience supporting start-up or greenfield manufacturing facilities.
