Account Manager - Liquid Handling (Southern DACH)
📍 Southern Germany (Home-based, ideally Stuttgart region)
A leading provider of automated solutions for the life sciences sector is looking to hire an Account Manager to drive growth across the Southern DACH region. The business supports customers across academia, biotech, pharma and clinical research by delivering innovative technologies that streamline laboratory workflows, particularly in sample preparation and analysis.
This is a hands-on commercial role suited to someone who enjoys a mix of new business development, account management, and technical engagement. You will take ownership of a defined territory, working closely with customers to understand their applications and present tailored solutions across a liquid handling portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow sales across Southern Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
- Identify and win new business opportunities within biotech, pharma and academic labs
- Engage closely with customers to understand workflows and technical requirements
- Deliver product demonstrations both on-site and at industry events
- Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, quotation, negotiation, and closing
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handover post-sale
- Represent the company at trade shows and exhibitions
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience selling capital equipment or technical solutions into life sciences (biotech, pharma, or academia)
- Strong communication skills in German and English
- Technically curious, with the ability to quickly learn and present complex products
- Experience in consultative sales and account management
- Understanding of laboratory workflows (e.g. genomics, proteomics, screening) is advantageous
- Highly organised, responsive and customer-focused
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to drive new business activity
Requirements
- Degree in Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
- Knowledge or exposure to liquid handling or lab automation is a plus
- Willingness to travel across the territory (~50%)
- Valid driving licence
