The Regional Technical Sales Specialist at a growing diagnostics company is a key contributor to driving technical sales and supporting diagnostic assay adoption within the assigned territory. This role blends consultative selling with strong technical expertise to deliver exceptional customer experiences, ensure successful product implementation, and foster business growth. The position focuses on expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying new opportunities for revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own regional revenue targets, including accurate forecasting and achieving performance goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers to meet annual sales objectives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to assess needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Drive new business development and support account expansion through product adoption initiatives.
  • Partner with account executives during customer meetings, demonstrations, and validation processes.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, leads, and technical issues.
  • Deliver impactful product presentations and training sessions for customers, internal teams, and partners.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events to promote solutions and engage with clients.
  • Participate in strategic account planning, including forecasting, contract renewals, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Manage account development activities such as strategic planning and funnel building for new customer acquisition.
  • Oversee routine renewals and negotiate long-term agreements for base business accounts.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to customers to ensure optimal product utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional implementation teams post-sale to ensure successful deployment.
  • Success in this role will be measured by revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • This territory would cover ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC, and SC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or business-related field required; clinical or laboratory sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical diagnostics industry, with a focus on territory management and account growth.
  • Familiarity with clinical chemistry analyzers and immunoassays is a plus.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist (ASCP) preferred.
  • Proven sales or commercial experience within diagnostics or laboratory technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a commitment to quality
