About the Company

We are a US-based biotechnology company pioneering innovative therapies for autoimmune diseases. As part of our strategic expansion into Europe, we are seeking a seasoned clinical development leader to establish and drive our European clinical operations, ensuring alignment with global strategy and regulatory expectations.

Position Summary

The VP Clinical Development will lead the design, execution, and oversight of clinical development programs across the region. This role is critical in shaping our European clinical footprint, building regional capabilities, and ensuring scientific and regulatory excellence in autoimmune disease trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of clinical development programs in Europe, with a focus on autoimmune indications.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure harmonization of clinical strategies and protocols.
  • Oversee clinical trial design, site selection, and operational execution across Phase I-III studies.
  • Serve as a key medical and scientific leader, representing the company in interactions with investigators, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
  • Build and manage a high-performing clinical development team in Europe.
  • Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, EMA regulations, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions, including INDs/CTAs, briefing documents, and responses to health authorities.
  • Provide medical oversight and safety monitoring in collaboration with pharmacovigilance and medical affairs.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in clinical development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record in leading clinical programs in autoimmune or immunology-related therapeutic areas.
  • Deep understanding of European regulatory landscape and clinical trial operations.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
