Technical Sales Manager - PVC
I'm currently supporting an established business within the PVC and polymer compounds market that is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an experienced Technical Sales Manager.
The position will focus on developing existing customer relationships, generating new business and providing technical support across a portfolio of PVC compounds and related polymer solutions.
The role would suit someone who combines strong technical knowledge of PVC with a proven background in B2B sales and customer development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow existing customer accounts across the UK.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within PVC, polymer compounds and thermoplastics.
- Provide technical and commercial support throughout the customer development and sales process.
- Build relationships with plastics processors, manufacturers, extruders and other industrial customers.
- Work closely with technical, production and product teams to develop solutions against customer requirements.
- Manage pricing, quotations, negotiations and commercial agreements.
- Identify new applications and market opportunities for PVC compounds.
- Support customers with product selection, specifications, trials and technical requirements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity and developments within the UK PVC market.
Ideal Background
- Previous experience in technical sales, account management or business development within polymers or plastics.
- Strong knowledge of PVC, ideally PVC compounds or related materials.
- Experience with thermoplastics, polymer compounds, additives or plastics processing would also be relevant.
- Good understanding of applications such as construction, profiles, pipes, cables, packaging or other PVC applications.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Able to communicate technical information effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Comfortable developing both existing accounts and new business.
