Manager of Sales Insights & Operations
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Manager of Sales Insights & Operations to join as a key member of the Business Excellence team, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Customer Experience functions. This role is critical to enhancing the effectiveness of one of our client's field sales forces by delivering actionable insights, performing analytics, and optimizing territory alignment in support of the organization.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of pharmaceutical market dynamics, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends. As part of the Sales Insights team, this individual acts as an internal consultant to Sales and Brand leadership, guiding strategic decisions through analysis and insight generation. The role also serves as a liaison across internal teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of strategies for the respiratory product launch.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as a connection point between Sales, Marketing, and other business units to support communication, resolve issues, and ensure coordinated efforts for respiratory product launch initiatives.
Sales & Market Analysis: Analyze sales data, market trends, territory performance, and competitive insights to provide actionable recommendations that drive sales strategies and improve performance. Partner with the Sales Force to identify growth opportunities and optimize field tactics.
Territory Optimization: Lead efforts to refine territory alignment by analyzing sales potential, segmentation patterns, and geographic considerations. Ensure territory structures maximize coverage, efficiency, and overall productivity.
Data-Driven Partnership: Collaborate closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and IT to support data-driven decision-making. Provide insights that help align strategies and achieve shared business objectives.
Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical resources that deliver real-time, actionable data to sales leadership and field teams. Ensure tools are intuitive and fit for business needs.
Process & Technology Enhancement: Seek ongoing opportunities to improve sales processes through analytics, automation, and technology. Champion best practices in data management, reporting, and analytics across the organization.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, analytics, life sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology insights, analytics, or sales operations
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sales processes, territory management, and field force optimization
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify operational needs, and drive process improvements
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); strong command of the MS Office Suite
- Ability to link analytics to business objectives and influence senior decision-makers
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to streamline communications and translate complex data into compelling narratives
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, validate data, and apply critical thinking in complex scenarios
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PharmD)
- 7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, including within biopharma, management consulting, or market research
- Experience supporting product launches and cross-functional initiatives in regulated environments
- Knowledge of patient-level data sources such as claims, EMR, GPO, IQVIA, or other pharma data sets
- Respiratory therapeutic area experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva Vault) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

This is a hybrid role based in Cary, NC.
