Executive Director, Head of Global Transactions

EPM Scientific are currently partnered with a high-growth, global biopharmaceutical organization to appoint a Head of Transactions (Executive Director) as a foundational hire within their Corporate Development function.

This organization is a recognized leader within its specialist therapeutic area, with a strong global footprint and a differentiated, science-led portfolio spanning multiple product categories. Under experienced leadership, the business has built a best-in-class innovation engine and is now entering a pivotal phase of expansion, focused on advancing its pipeline and enhancing its external innovation strategy.

This is a high-impact, newly created leadership role reporting directly to the Global Head of Corporate Development. As the first dedicated Head of Transactions, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the organization's external growth strategy, with a particular emphasis on clinical-stage opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end execution of strategic transactions, including licensing, M&A, and partnerships within pharma
  • Partnering with corporate development team to evaluate and transact on external innovation opportunities
  • Structuring, negotiating, and executing complex agreements with global partners
  • Providing strategic guidance to senior leadership on transaction prioritization and portfolio evolution

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded leader with a strong blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution capabilities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proven track record in biopharma transactions, particularly within clinical-stage dealmaking
  • Experience within Pharmaceutical Strategy, Biopharmaceutical Corporate Development
  • Deep understanding of drug development, valuation, and pipeline strategy
  • Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and negotiation skills
  • Advanced Scientific Degree preferred but not required

Location

This role is based in Boston and requires 3 days a week presence on site and a living location in commutable distance to the office.
