Aseptic Filling Line SME
Overview
We are supporting a short-term engagement requiring a senior consultant with strong expertise in aseptic manufacturing and filling line operations. The focus is on post-fill handling and alignment with current EU GMP Annex 1 expectations, particularly around the transfer of filled containers from classified environments into downstream automated handling systems.
Scope of Work
- Review and assess existing post-fill transfer arrangements from classified areas into downstream equipment
- Evaluate compliance against EU GMP Annex 1 (2022) and Contamination Control Strategy (CCS) principles
- Identify potential contamination risks associated with open or semi-open interfaces
- Propose practical, risk-based technical improvements (e.g. enhanced separation, protected transfer concepts, controlled air interfaces)
- Provide clear, implementable recommendations suitable for inspection-facing environments
- Support Engineering, QA, and Validation teams as required
- Contribute to compliance-related documentation or regulatory discussions where needed
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with aseptic manufacturing and filling line operations
- Solid working knowledge of EU GMP Annex 1 and current inspection expectations
- Experience assessing or improving Grade A/B environments and associated interfaces
- Background in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing
- Ability to work independently and deliver actionable outcomes within short timelines
