Overview
A growth-stage, publicly listed biopharmaceutical organization is seeking a Head of Corporate Communications to establish and lead its communications function. The company is advancing a first-in-class therapy through late-stage development, with anticipated commercialization in the near term, and is at a critical inflection point in its evolution.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the corporate narrative, build infrastructure from the ground up, and partner closely with global leadership to position the organization on an international stage.
Position Summary
The Head of Corporate Communications will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated communications strategy across corporate and product initiatives. This individual will play a key role in supporting the organization's transition from a development-stage to a commercial-stage business.
The role requires a hands-on leader with experience in high-growth environments, strong agency management capabilities, and expertise in both corporate reputation and product communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a long-term corporate communications strategy aligned with broader business and commercialization goals
- Lead all external communications efforts, including corporate positioning, media relations, and reputation management
- Develop and execute product communications strategies, including planning for an upcoming launch
- Translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, compelling messaging for diverse stakeholder groups
- Oversee and manage external agency partners to ensure effective execution and measurable impact
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Investor Relations to ensure consistent and coordinated messaging
- Support executive visibility through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and media opportunities
- Contribute to issues management and crisis communications planning as needed
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications within biopharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a related industry
- Demonstrated success building and executing communications strategies in both pre-commercial and commercial environments
- Experience supporting or leading product launch communications
- Strong media relations expertise and external storytelling capabilities
- Proven ability to manage agency relationships and cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- Fluency in Korean is a plus
Organizational Alignment
This position operates within a global, matrixed environment and will collaborate closely with both U.S.-based and international leadership teams. The role will partner with commercial leadership on product-related initiatives while maintaining alignment with global executives on corporate messaging and investor communications.
