An emerging biotechnology company is preparing for the launch of a first-in-class rare disease therapy and is seeking a Vice President, US Sales to build and lead its national commercial field organization.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity within a small, entrepreneurial biotech, with responsibility for shaping the US sales strategy, building the leadership infrastructure and creating the culture required for a successful launch.
The VP, US Sales will recruit and lead a team of Regional Field Leaders, who will oversee field teams across both academic and community markets. The role requires a commercial leader who can operate strategically at the executive level while remaining highly connected to field execution, customers and the realities of launching into a complex rare disease market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build the US sales organization from the ground up, including recruiting and developing Regional Field Leaders
- Own national sales strategy, launch readiness and field execution for a first-in-class rare disease therapy
- Establish the operating model, performance expectations and culture for a newly created field organization
- Develop differentiated approaches across major academic centers and community markets
- Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access and Patient Services to deliver an integrated launch
- Use field, customer and market insights to continually refine commercial strategy and execution
- Build a highly accountable, entrepreneurial and performance-driven sales culture
- Serve as a senior commercial leader and key contributor to broader US launch planning
The ideal candidate will bring significant rare disease or specialty commercial leadership experience, including successful product launches and experience building and scaling field organizations. They will combine strategic commercial thinking with a hands-on leadership style and thrive in an environment where infrastructure, processes and teams are being built rather than inherited.
