Senior Director / Director, Clinical Strategy (CME/IME)
EPM Scientific is partnering with a growing healthcare education organization seeking a Clinical Strategist to support business development efforts through scientific expertise, educational strategy, and client engagement.
This individual will serve as a key partner to the commercial team, helping identify educational opportunities, develop strategic concepts, support grant and proposal development, and participate in client-facing discussions with pharmaceutical and healthcare industry stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong scientific and therapeutic area expertise with a commercially minded approach, allowing them to translate complex clinical insights into compelling educational and business opportunities.
This position offers significant exposure to supporter engagement, business development, and commercial strategy, making it an excellent opportunity for someone interested in expanding beyond a traditional scientific or educational role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with Business Development leaders throughout the opportunity lifecycle.
- Participate in supporter meetings, capability presentations, strategic discussions, and proposal development efforts.
- Identify educational gaps, unmet needs, and emerging clinical trends that can inform educational initiatives.
- Develop scientific rationales, educational concepts, learning objectives, and agenda recommendations for grant proposals and educational programs.
- Collaborate with commercial, medical, and educational teams to design differentiated educational solutions.
- Support responses to grant opportunities, RFPs, and strategic business initiatives.
- Provide therapeutic area expertise across multiple disease states and healthcare specialties.
- Stay current on clinical advancements, treatment paradigms, guideline updates, and healthcare trends.
- Serve as a scientific subject matter expert during internal planning discussions and client interactions.
- Help translate supporter priorities into impactful educational strategies and programming recommendations.
Key Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA, or equivalent experience).
- Experience in CME/CE, independent medical education (IME), medical affairs, educational strategy, scientific strategy, healthcare consulting, or medical communications.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, educational planning, and outcomes-focused program development.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry stakeholders.
- Familiarity with educational grants, needs assessments, gap analyses, and accredited educational activities.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Strong presentation, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a client-facing environment and contributing to business development efforts.
