A high-growth, innovation-driven specialty biopharmaceutical company with a recent successful launch and strong late-stage pipeline is seeking a Senior Director, Market Access National Accounts to join its Market Access field team.

This is a highly visible, strategic role responsible for leading engagement with large national payer and PBM accounts to optimize patient access, strengthen account performance, and drive business outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping access strategy and ensuring patients can benefit from breakthrough therapies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy and execution for priority national payer and PBM accounts, developing short- and long-term account plans aligned to access and financial objectives.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for key national accounts, engaging cross-functional decision-makers across pharmacy, medical, and population health.
  • Drive strong customer partnerships to support contracting discussions, negotiations, and overall account performance.
  • Monitor and analyze access metrics, formulary positioning, utilization management, and financial performance to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with pricing, contracting, finance, analytics, and field teams to ensure alignment and execution of access strategies.
  • Translate payer wins into real-world patient access by coordinating with field teams and removing operational barriers.
  • Deliver executive-level insights, business reviews, and strategic recommendations based on account performance and market dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry
  • 6+ years of experience in market access, payer strategy, or national account management
  • Demonstrated success managing large national or regional payer and PBM accounts (ESI/Cigna)
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. payer landscape, including formulary design, utilization management, contracting, and reimbursement pathways.
