Laboratory Technician - Viral Vectors Production Support (m/f/d)

Job Summary:

One of the main tasks for the Lab Technician is supporting the high‑capacity adenoviral vector production team, in particular the downstream chromatographic purification. The Lab Technician also performs general laboratory duties which may include restocking of consumables, washing of glassware, and waste management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing laboratory operations
  • Prepare media and buffers
  • Support the vector production team with chromatographic purification of virus particles
  • Conduct in vitro experiments
  • Apply molecular biology techniques including gel electrophoresis, PCR, ELISA, and Western blot
  • Replenish laboratory supplies
  • Autoclave equipment and materials
  • Wash laboratory glassware
  • Perform other basic laboratory tasks as required

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Completed training as a medical‑technical assistant, biological‑technical assistant, biological laboratory technician, or a university degree in biology, biotechnology, or a related field, or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience with liquid chromatography of biopharmaceutical molecules (proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, viral vectors)
  • Experience with culturing mammalian cells is a plus
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques including gel electrophoresis, PCR, ELISA, and Western blot

  • Knowledge and experience in molecular biology techniques including gel electrophoresis, PCR, ELISA, and Western blot

  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with standard software (Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge of electronic laboratory documentation and laboratory management is a plus
