Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial strategy and business development activities for the coatings business across North America, with a strong focus on the Texas market and surrounding regions.
- Drive profitable revenue growth across key segments including architectural coatings, industrial coatings, wood coatings, protective coatings, automotive coatings, and powder coatings.
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans aligned with company objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify, acquire, and develop new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing key accounts and OEM customers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team encompassing sales, business development, and key account management.
- Establish executive-level relationships with major coatings manufacturers, formulators, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, application development, marketing, and operations teams to ensure successful commercialization of new products.
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial agreements with key customers.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities and mitigate commercial risks.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade associations, and customer events.
- Drive a strong results-oriented culture with a focus on new business development and market share growth.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Business, or a related discipline. An MBA is highly desirable.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial experience within the coatings, resins, additives, pigments, or specialty chemicals industry.
- Proven track record of driving growth within architectural, industrial, protective, automotive, or powder coatings markets.
- Previous leadership experience managing regional or national sales teams.
- Strong network within the coatings industry across North America.
- Demonstrated success managing strategic accounts, distributors, and OEM relationships.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical value propositions into business results.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English required.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout North America.
- Experience with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and commercial performance management tools.
