Associate Director of Global Pricing and Access - Nephrology

Associate Director, Global Pricing & Access Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Global Price & Access professional to support the development and execution of pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategies. This role will support reimbursement and launch preparation activities across the US, EU, and international markets while contributing to global policy, pricing frameworks, value proposition development, evidence planning, launch sequencing, and market research.

The position will also support lifecycle management (LCM) activities, including new indication evaluations and input into clinical development. Close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and regional market access leaders is essential to ensure successful global launches across therapeutic indications.

What You'll Do

Market Research & Analysis

  • Conduct secondary research on existing therapies, payer management approaches, HTA outcomes, and burden‑of‑illness data to inform price levels, market access estimates, and target product profiles.
  • Lead third‑party payer and analog research to determine achievable price, gross‑to‑net expectations, and access potential across indications.
  • Integrate value proposition and clinical data to guide evidence needs and indication sequencing.

Pricing & Forecasting

  • Develop pricing, market access, and gross‑to‑net assumptions for financial forecasting and commercial opportunity assessments.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of global Pricing & Reimbursement (P&R) strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Recommend price positions, country‑level price targets, regional guardrails, and launch sequences for new indications and markets.

Access Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Support development of value‑driven pricing strategies, including innovative contracting, tendering frameworks, and risk‑sharing programs.
  • Collaborate with regional and local Market Access teams post‑launch to support payer reviews and assess price exceptions relative to global guidance.
  • Provide strategic P&R input into new indication business cases, Phase 3 programs, long‑term extension studies, and biomarker initiatives.

Cross‑Functional Integration

  • Build strong partnerships with internal colleagues across clinical, commercial, medical, and market access organizations to ensure aligned strategy execution.
  • Identify environmental and policy trends affecting global P&R landscapes and support long‑range planning.
  • Represent the Value & Access function externally at P&R‑related forums when appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support due diligence for potential partnerships or licensing opportunities.
  • Assess market needs, competitive dynamics, and future price potential across nephrology pipeline assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements affecting pricing and reimbursement.

Who You Are

You are intellectually curious and passionate about understanding diseases, treatment paradigms, and payer perspectives globally. You are comfortable working with ambiguity, building price and access assumptions from limited early‑stage information, and collaborating in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in a relevant scientific, economic, or business field.
  • 7+ years of pricing and/or market access experience with strong knowledge of global payer environments.
  • Experience developing global payer policies and strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical product development or commercialization.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality work under tight timelines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with innovative contracting (e.g., risk‑sharing, value‑based agreements).
  • Familiarity with health technology assessment (HTA) processes and health policy.
  • Track record of building deep therapeutic area expertise.
