Position Overview

The Vice President, Client Services is responsible for leading a portfolio of strategic client accounts, ensuring exceptional client partnerships, driving organic growth, and developing high-performing account teams. As a senior leader within the organization, this individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients, provides strategic direction across programs, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding business results.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership

  • Serve as executive lead for key pharmaceutical and biotech accounts
  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships
  • Provide strategic counsel across medical education and scientific communications programs
  • Drive client satisfaction, retention, and account growth

Business Growth

  • Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities across existing accounts
  • Support new business development, proposals, and pitch activities
  • Develop strategic account plans that align client needs with agency capabilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop account management teams
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and resource allocation

Financial & Operational Management

  • Oversee account profitability, forecasting, and budget management
  • Ensure delivery excellence across all client programs
  • Establish and maintain best practices across the client services function

Industry Leadership

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, therapeutic landscapes, and client priorities
  • Represent the agency at industry events and networking opportunities
  • Contribute to the evolution of agency capabilities and service offerings

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience within a medical communications, medical education, or healthcare agency environment
  • Demonstrated success leading strategic pharmaceutical or biotech client relationships
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong business development, financial management, and operational leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
