Position Overview
The Vice President, Client Services is responsible for leading a portfolio of strategic client accounts, ensuring exceptional client partnerships, driving organic growth, and developing high-performing account teams. As a senior leader within the organization, this individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients, provides strategic direction across programs, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding business results.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership
- Serve as executive lead for key pharmaceutical and biotech accounts
- Build and maintain senior-level client relationships
- Provide strategic counsel across medical education and scientific communications programs
- Drive client satisfaction, retention, and account growth
Business Growth
- Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities across existing accounts
- Support new business development, proposals, and pitch activities
- Develop strategic account plans that align client needs with agency capabilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop account management teams
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Support talent development, succession planning, and resource allocation
Financial & Operational Management
- Oversee account profitability, forecasting, and budget management
- Ensure delivery excellence across all client programs
- Establish and maintain best practices across the client services function
Industry Leadership
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, therapeutic landscapes, and client priorities
- Represent the agency at industry events and networking opportunities
- Contribute to the evolution of agency capabilities and service offerings
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience within a medical communications, medical education, or healthcare agency environment
- Demonstrated success leading strategic pharmaceutical or biotech client relationships
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Strong business development, financial management, and operational leadership skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
