The Opportunity: The Clinical Scientist will be an integral part of clinical design, implementation, and the scientific oversight of clinical development programs in I&I. This person will need to combine scientific leadership with hands-on study execution to support their lean, agile development team. Reporting to the VP, Clinical Development, this position will be remote with periodic travel, however, West Coast is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the design and implementation of clinical protocols (primarily early-phase, POC).
- Coordinating development of protocol & design documents
- Assessing study elements through literature review and scientific evaluation
- Performing ongoing review and interpretation of clinical safety & efficacy data
- Supporting study implementation with clin ops and CRO partners by providing scientific input and remaining engaged in study details to resolve issues and maintain progress
- Working with internal & external stakeholders
- Engaging investors and KOLs as needed for study design and study conduct
- Contributing to preparation & review of protocols, investigator borchues, clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, and scinetiifc presentations or publications as apppropriate
An ideal candidate for this role MUST have…
- Advanced degree in medicine, life sciences, or related discipline (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred
- 5+ years of clinical development or clinical science experience in the pharma or biotech industry
- Strong Phase I-II experience
- Therapeutic experience in Immunology & Inflammation (dermatology, respiratory, rheumatology, or inflammatory bowel disease) desirable.
- Mandarin language capability a plus. Ability to work flexible hours supporting global collaborations.
- Approximately 10-25% travel, including investigator meetings, site visits, and scientific conferences.
