R&D Engineer - Diagnostic Imaging Devices

Location: Paris, France
Contract: 12-Month Freelance

A leading medical technology company is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to support the development of advanced diagnostic imaging devices. This freelance opportunity offers the chance to contribute to high-impact innovation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development activities for diagnostic imaging systems
• Translate clinical requirements into technical specifications and prototypes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, clinical, and regulatory experts
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and validation testing
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, MDR, and relevant quality standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in R&D within the medical device sector, ideally in imaging technologies
• Strong background in biomedical engineering, electronics, or applied physics
• Familiarity with imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, or ultrasound is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams
• Fluency in English; French language skills are a plus

Contract Details

• Freelance contract for 12 months
• On-site in Paris (hybrid flexibility may be considered)
• Competitive daily rate
