Procurement Manager - Strategic API Sourcing Project
Location: Paris
Contract Type: 18 months
Reports To: Head of Procurement
About the Role
We are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing activities for a strategic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) project aimed at securing long-term supply for a high-priority therapeutic product. This role will be instrumental in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement for the API sourcing project, including market analysis, supplier identification, RFx processes, and contract negotiation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations) to ensure supplier capabilities align with GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that mitigate risk, optimise cost, and support project timelines.
- Manage supplier onboarding, performance tracking, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and sustainability goals.
- Provide regular reporting to project stakeholders on procurement progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical procurement, ideally with exposure to API sourcing or technical materials.
- Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory frameworks (e.g., EMA, FDA), and supplier qualification processes.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with tight deadlines.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or related field; CIPS certification is a plus.
