About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Freelance Clinical Procurement Lead to join my clients team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of clinical supplies and services, ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies. You will work closely with various stakeholders to optimise procurement processes, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies for clinical supplies and services to support ongoing and upcoming clinical trials.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective procurement.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions that align with organisational goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, guidelines, and organisational policies.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with clinical teams, finance, and other stakeholders to understand procurement needs and provide timely solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement of clinical supplies and services.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings.
  • Team Management: Able to effectively overlook a team of at least 5.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical procurement or a related field, with a proven track record of successful procurement management on a freelance basis
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Management skills/experience desirable but not necessary.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of clinical procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
