About the Role
A global MedTech organisation with more than 500 employees is seeking a Service Technician to support customers across the DACH and French border regions. The company unites several well‑known brands in the optical and ophthalmic device sector and provides advanced technologies in refraction, diagnostics, screening, and edging systems.
Its multifunctional, fully automated instruments enable efficient workflows and highly accurate clinical results. Customers can also benefit from AI‑supported evaluations and cloud‑connected tele‑ophthalmology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical issues for opticians across Saarland, Rhineland‑Palatinate, Alsace, Lorraine, and neighbouring regions-on‑site or remotely (via PC/phone).
- Deliver professional, reliable service and product/application training for ophthalmic instruments and optical workshop equipment.
- Participate in initial training programmes and continue developing expertise through self‑learning and team collaboration.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and collaborate closely with the sales team.
- Present the full product portfolio to customers, many of whom currently use only one segment (e.g., edging technology or wavefront‑based systems).
- Organise, install, and commission devices, including training customers on system operation.
- Identify technical barriers and resolve them in cooperation with Service, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Capture customer needs and contribute to the development of effective solutions with Marketing, Product Management, and Training/Academy teams.
Profile Requirements
- German and French: one fluent/native; the other at minimum B1 communication level.
- Primary residence in Saarland, Rhineland‑Palatinate, or Alsace.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Initial experience in field service or technical customer support.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Collaborative team player who contributes to continuous team development.
- Completed technical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Confident using digital tools and software (e.g., MS Office).
- Ability to manage stress and work reliably under pressure.
- Experience in optics is an advantage.
