Our client is seeking a field‑based scientific expert to support healthcare providers and investigators across a large U.S. territory. This role is critical to advancing scientific exchange, supporting research collaborations, and shaping Medical Affairs strategy during an important phase of organizational growth.

Position Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a field‑based scientific and clinical expert, responsible for building and maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, investigators, and academic institutions. The MSL facilitates scientific exchange, provides balanced medical information, supports research initiatives, and delivers insights to help inform medical strategy across hematology and oncology.

Roles and Responsibilities

MSL Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a respected scientific presence within the medical community.
  • Identify and build relationships with clinicians, thought leaders, and treatment advocates.
  • Engage with regional and national opinion leaders across community clinics, IDNs, and academic centers.
  • Provide high‑quality medical and scientific support, including participation in advisory boards, regional training, and scientific presentations.
  • Lead medical education efforts, including disease‑state discussions, guideline reviews, and therapeutic information.
  • Support and manage research‑related activities to ensure proposals align with medical objectives.
  • Maintain deep scientific expertise in hematology, oncology, and related disease areas through continual literature review and congress participation.
  • Complete required documentation, including CRM reporting and project updates.
  • Prepare and submit abstracts for scientific congresses.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Market Access and other Medical Affairs partners.
  • Monitor competitor activity and evolving marketplace dynamics.

Experience, Education, and Skills

MSL Qualifications

  • Advanced degree required (PhD, PharmD, or MD).
  • Minimum 3+ years of industry experience in a field‑based medical or MSL role.
  • Strong background in general medicine with focus in hematology, oncology, or relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Experience supporting scientific studies and clinical trial activities.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain durable relationships with key thought leaders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and scientific storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, exercise strong judgment, and deliver high‑quality results.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive within a dynamic team environment.
  • Commitment to compliance with regulatory and GCP standards.

Compensation

Base Salary: $200,000 - $230,000
Final compensation will depend on experience, education, location, internal equity, and market conditions. The role includes eligibility for both short‑term and long‑term incentives.
