Medical Director, Medical Affairs - Dermatology
A fast‑growing biotechnology organization is seeking an experienced Dermatology Medical Director to join its Medical Affairs Strategy team. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing U.S. medical strategy for a growing dermatology portfolio and will oversee medical planning, evidence generation, and field medical operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the company's dermatology portfolio, with a primary focus on medical affairs activities in atopic dermatitis.
- Develop and implement an integrated U.S. Medical Affairs plan aligned with overall development, launch, and commercial strategies.
- Serve as the scientific and therapeutic expert in dermatology, partnering cross‑functionally with clinical development, commercial operations, regulatory affairs, and other internal teams.
- Establish Real World Evidence capabilities to support regulatory submissions, lifecycle management, and post‑launch insights.
- Lead the planning and execution of dermatology‑focused advisory boards, investigator meetings, medical strategy discussions, and internal scientific forums.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, payer and managed care stakeholders, advocacy groups, and relevant external partners.
- Provide medical and scientific expertise to guide medical communications, content development, and publication planning.
- Track scientific developments, competitive intelligence, and industry trends to inform strategic decision‑making across the dermatology therapeutic area.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with a dermatology focus and 3-4+ years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
- Demonstrated success leading dermatology launch strategies and post‑marketing initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills across scientific, clinical, and commercial audiences.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience working within matrixed, cross‑functional organizations.
- Expertise in scientific analysis, data interpretation, and statistical methodologies relevant to dermatology; deep knowledge of prescription dermatology therapies.
- Experience managing senior‑level scientific relationships and representing the organization in external dermatology‑focused engagements.
Compensation
- Base salary: $230,000
