Medical Device Engineer (Electronics & Firmware)

We are currently supporting an innovative medical device company in Zurich that is looking to hire a Medical Device Engineer (Electronics). This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced implantable technologies and contribute across the full product lifecycle in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as subject matter expert for electronics, embedded systems, and firmware development
• Manage the lifecycle of electronic components within implantable medical device systems
• Support change management activities in collaboration with Regulatory and Manufacturing teams
• Create and maintain technical documentation in line with quality management systems
• Contribute to regulatory and quality activities from a technical perspective
• Perform verification testing and technical performance analysis
• Conduct root cause investigations for non-conformities and returned products
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders within development projects

Candidate profile:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• ~5+ years R&D experience in a regulated industry, including ~3+ years within medical devices
• Strong experience with analog and digital circuit design
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools (schematic capture and PCB layout)
• Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware development
• Experience working with low-power / battery-operated devices is advantageous
• Strong analytical skills and a structured, quality-driven mindset
• Fluent English required
