The Role
The Medical Advisor operates at a national level while working closely with Global Medical Affairs and international affiliates to shape and execute strategic initiatives. The role represents the local medical perspective in global strategy forums and contributes actively to cross‑country collaboration.
Within the country organization, the Medical Advisor serves as a key internal and external expert for medical and scientific matters, acts as a primary contact for medical and project‑related topics, leads medical initiatives, and ensures effective local execution of the global medical product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
International Responsibilities
- Take full ownership for the execution of assigned international and regional projects
- Act as a regional project lead, supporting the design, rollout, and implementation of medical initiatives
- Represent Medical Affairs Germany in global project teams, ensuring clear scientific exchange and structured feedback
- Assess proposed scientific initiatives and, where appropriate, drive their local implementation
National Responsibilities
- Contribute to and help deliver the national product strategy as an active member of the Value Team
- Lead and coordinate national Medical Affairs activities
- Develop scientific concepts for congress symposia
- Plan, organize, and facilitate advisory boards
- Oversee the planning and conduct of non‑interventional studies (NIS) and manage investigator‑initiated studies (IIS)
- Build and maintain relationships with external experts and manage related projects
- Co‑develop, review, and approve country‑specific materials (e.g. promotional content, scientific presentations, mandatory texts, Q&A documents for supported products)
- Provide medical input for the review of training content and standard medical information responses
- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable compliance requirements, including HWG, Pharmacopoeia standards, SOPs, and local regulations
Candidate Profile
- University degree in medicine or science, ideally complemented by a PhD
- Preferred expertise in the relevant therapeutic and product area, particularly dermatology
- 4-6 years of experience within Medical Affairs, Sales & Marketing, and/or Clinical Research in the pharmaceutical industry
- Solid project management skills
- Previous experience working in an international or cross‑cultural corporate environment
