Role Overview

As a Medical Copy-Editor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of scientific and medical content. You will work closely with writers, account teams, and clients to review and refine deliverables, maintaining the highest editorial standards. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a deep understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and edit a wide range of medical communication materials, including manuscripts, slide decks, abstracts, and digital content.
  • Ensure all content adheres to client guidelines, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with writers and project managers to maintain consistency in tone, style, and scientific accuracy.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve clarity and engagement while preserving technical integrity.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in medical communications and relevant therapy areas.

Skills and Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in medical communications.
  • 10+ years of experience as a medical copy-editor.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and edit a wide variety of deliverables across multiple therapy areas.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to editorial excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Contract Details

  • Initial engagement: 12 weeks (with potential for extension).
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Start date: Late February / Early March.
  • Location: 100% remote (US-based; East Coast preferred).
  • Employment type: W2 worker arrangement.
