EPM Scientific is partnered with an innovative biotechnology company seeking experienced Field Medical Director for a growth role within its Field Medical Affairs organization. This position will support a new asset in the Dermatology space, and an existing Oncology product line, establishing relationships and facilitating scientific exchange with academic and community healthcare providers throughout the US.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of field medical professionals; establish goals and manage performance.
- Build and monitor KPIs; provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Ensure strict adherence to compliance standards, regulatory expectations, and internal SOPs.
- Communicate the strategic value of Field Medical across internal stakeholders.
- Develop a national field medical strategy and guide territory‑level planning and execution.
- Support scientific engagement activities with healthcare professionals and external experts.
- Oversee development and approval of resources that enable proactive and reactive scientific exchange.
- Drive generation of field insights and ensure they are shared and acted upon across the organization.
- Collaborate with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs to support trial site engagement and data‑related initiatives.
- Foster team development through individual development plans and best‑practice sharing across regions.
- Promote effective, compliant cross‑functional partnership.
Requirements
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP).
- 4+ years of field medical experience, including 2+ years in a team leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing high‑performing field teams and achieving qualitative and quantitative objectives.
- Strong experience with both proactive and reactive field medical initiatives.
- Proven ability to collaborate with external KOLs and manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex science into clear business context.
- Ability to travel approximately 50%.
- Preferred: experience supporting product launches.
Benefits and Compensation
- Base salary of $220,000
- 20% annual bonus.
