EPM is partnered with one of our clients, a globally established organization and leader in pharmaceutical innovation on finding their next V&A leader. This individual will oversee the entire process of Managed Care Payer Contracting documentation in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of all payer contract templates, standardized language libraries, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert on contract structure, terminology, and risk mitigation, with a strong understanding of how language impacts financial modeling; provide strategic support during customer negotiations as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Management, Payer Analytics, Payer Marketing, and Finance to craft customized contracts and amendments aligned with strategic payer initiatives.
- Ensure contract accuracy and alignment with negotiated terms, financial goals, and operational requirements, while overseeing the full contract approval process to maintain governance and leadership visibility.
- Establish and implement best practices for contract authoring, including SOPs, quality control measures, and training programs; lead a high-performing team of contract authors and support audits, compliance reviews, and due diligence efforts.
Qualifications:
- 10+ Years within Brand Pharmaceutical Pricing and Contracting
- 5+ Years within leadership positions.
- Expertise in understanding healthcare reimbursement models and benefit designs (pharmacy, medical benefit, innovative and value-based contracting, etc.), regulatory environments, and commercial and government payer dynamics.
- Extensive expertise across Commercial GPO, PBM, and MBM channels, with deep knowledge of Medicare Part D/B and Medicaid contracting strategies
- A strong communicator skilled in translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong financial acumen partnered with negotiation and analytical skills.
