Clinical Research Physician (Oncology)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced MD-level Oncology Clinical Trial Physician with deep expertise in lung cancer to support patient identification and enrollment for oncology clinical trials. This role bridges clinical insight with operational execution, focusing on pre-screening, patient engagement, and physician collaboration to optimize trial recruitment and retention.
Contract Details:
- 0.4 FTE.
- 6 month contract (possibility to extend).
- Home based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-screening of patients via phone based on trial protocols to assess eligibility.
- Engage in direct patient outreach, providing clear, empathetic communication about trial opportunities.
- Review medical histories to determine trial eligibility and ensure alignment with protocol criteria.
- Maintain expert-to-expert communication with treating oncologists/investigators to discuss patient suitability and trial logistics.
- Serve as a clinical liaison between treating physicians and study sites to facilitate smooth patient transitions.
- Support patient enrollment by guiding them through the clinical trial journey and addressing concerns.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the entire patient journey to provide tailored support and insights.
- Understanding the clinical trial processes and the patients journey following diagnosis.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) with specialization or significant experience in oncology (expertise with lung cancer is preferred but not mandatory).
- Demonstrated experience in clinical trials, including patient recruitment and protocol adherence.
- Strong interpersonal skills for both patient-facing and physician-to-physician communication.
- Fluent in German.
