Business Development (Antibody Discovery)

Mandarin + English required | PhD required | Preclinical antibody expertise required

A high‑growth biotechnology organisation is expanding its partnering team and is looking for a science‑led Business Development & Licensing professional to help drive external collaborations and commercial deals around a portfolio of therapeutic antibody programmes.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being the bridge between discovery/preclinical data and partnering strategy - shaping scientific narratives, building business cases, and leading cross‑functional diligence through to transaction execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and progress external partnering opportunities (e.g., out‑licensing, co‑development and structured collaborations)
  • Build clear, partner‑ready scientific and commercial narratives from complex discovery and preclinical datasets
  • Develop business cases and recommendations for leadership, including assumptions, risks and valuation inputs
  • Lead cross‑functional diligence and coordinate internal stakeholders across research, technical development, clinical/regulatory inputs, operations and finance
  • Support the end‑to‑end deal process: partner outreach, proposals, term sheet development, negotiation support, and alliance management
  • Represent the company at partnering events and conferences, building relationships across biopharma decision‑makers
  • Contribute to broader BD strategy, ensuring alignment with portfolio priorities and platform capabilities

Requirements:

  • PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology or a related biomedical discipline
  • Demonstrable experience in antibody drug discovery and preclinical development (target validation through optimisation / hit‑to‑lead)
  • Strong understanding of antibody modalities such as mAbs, bispecifics and ADCs
  • Confident interpreting and communicating biological datasets (e.g., binding/functional performance, specificity, in vivo efficacy) in a way that resonates with external partners
  • Proven ability to align scientific assets with partner needs, pipeline gaps and strategic rationale
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English with the ability to operate comfortably in global scientific and business discussions
