Associate Director, Commercial Analytics & Forecasting

A rapidly growing pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Commercial Analytics & Forecasting to play a key role in driving commercial decision-making through data-driven insights, forecasting, and strategic business planning. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable recommendations that support brand performance, resource allocation, and long-term growth strategies.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical analytics capabilities with a robust forecasting foundation, allowing them to connect market dynamics, business performance, and predictive insights to commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead brand forecasting activities across short-term and long-range planning cycles, including demand forecasting, scenario planning, and business performance projections.
  • Develop and maintain forecast models by incorporating market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data sources, field insights, and internal performance metrics.
  • Analyze commercial performance data and generate actionable insights to support brand strategy, launch planning, and ongoing business optimization.
  • Partner closely with Brand Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Finance, Commercial Operations, and Executive Leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Design and execute advanced analytics projects to evaluate business questions, identify opportunities, and assess key performance drivers.
  • Leverage claims, prescription, patient, and commercial data sources to uncover trends and inform brand planning recommendations.
  • Present insights, risks, opportunities, and forecast assumptions to senior leadership in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Support annual budgeting, financial planning, and strategic forecasting exercises.
  • Develop scenario analyses and sensitivity models to assess the impact of market events, competitive activity, and business initiatives.
  • Continuously improve forecasting methodologies, analytic frameworks, and reporting capabilities to enhance decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in both commercial forecasting and business analytics, with the ability to bridge technical analysis and strategic business planning.
  • Strong proficiency in analyzing large datasets and translating findings into business recommendations.
  • Experience working with commercial pharmaceutical datasets, including prescription, claims, patient, and market data sources.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with experience using tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, Python, or similar analytical platforms.
  • Strong understanding of commercial operations, forecasting methodologies, market dynamics, and brand performance measurement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and leadership levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting product launches, growth brands, or specialty pharmaceutical products.
  • Exposure to advanced forecasting techniques, predictive modeling, and scenario planning.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative commercial organization where analytics directly informs strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to balance technical execution with broader business and brand strategy considerations.
