Area Sales Manager

We are seeking a driven and commercially astute Area Sales Manager to lead sales efforts across the South West region in Germany for a portfolio of cutting-edge ophthalmology medical devices. This is a field-based role focused on driving revenue growth, building strong relationships with ophthalmologists, surgical teams, and procurement stakeholders, and delivering clinical value through consultative selling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), surgeons, and hospital decision-makers.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and clinical support in theatre settings.
  • Identify new business opportunities and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to close.
  • Collaborate with marketing and clinical teams to support product launches and educational events.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and provide regular sales forecasts and territory insights.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and NHS procurement processes.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in medical device sales, ideally within ophthalmology or surgical specialties.
  • Strong clinical acumen and ability to engage with healthcare professionals at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the South West.
