The Role

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing and developing a sales territory across Austria, identifying new business opportunities, and providing technical expertise to customers involved in complex machining and manufacturing applications.

The successful individual will combine strong commercial skills with a deep understanding of cutting tool technology and modern manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and expand the assigned sales territory across Austria.
Identify new market opportunities and secure new customer accounts.
Build, develop, and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers.
Provide technical consultation on machining applications, tooling solutions, and process optimisation.
Design cost-effective tooling and manufacturing solutions to improve customer productivity.
Prepare and manage quotations, conduct negotiations, and secure commercial agreements.
Plan and support on-site tooling trials and application projects.
Analyse production processes and recommend performance improvements.
Manage territory sales forecasts and revenue planning activities.
Monitor market developments, customer trends, and competitor activity.
Represent the organisation at industry exhibitions, trade shows, and customer events.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales professional with a strong technical background in cutting tool technology and metalworking applications.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' experience selling cutting tools or related manufacturing solutions.
Proven track record of developing business and achieving sales targets.
Strong understanding of machining technologies and modern manufacturing environments.
Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining Technology, or a related discipline is advantageous.
Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated, organised, and results-oriented approach.
Ability to work independently within a home-office environment.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Austria.
Fluent German language skills are essential.
English language skills would be advantageous.
