Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer - 12-Month Freelance Contract
Location: Limerick- On-site (minimum 3 days per week)
Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of a new product. This is a hands-on role that combines conceptual design with practical implementation, requiring a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and a proven ability to turn ideas into functional prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through to prototype.
• Develop 3D models and detailed design specifications using SolidWorks.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to define hypotheses, design tests, evaluate data, and iterate effectively.
• Conduct tolerance analysis and produce high-quality drafting documentation.
• Collaborate with junior engineers and technicians to drive project success.

Requirements

• Approximately 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on New Product Development.
• Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience in fluidics or infusion systems is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and lead small teams.
• On-site presence in Limerick required at least 3 days per week.
