A high-growth, commercially active biopharmaceutical company is looking for a Director / Senior Director, Global Publications to join their growing team.
This is a highly visible opportunity to shape global scientific communications strategy at a pivotal time in the product lifecycle, working cross-functionally with medical affairs, clinical, and commercial leadership.
The Opportunity
This role will own the end-to-end global publications strategy, ensuring high-impact dissemination of clinical and scientific data across major congresses and peer-reviewed journals.
You'll operate as a strategic leader and scientific partner, influencing how data is positioned externally while guiding execution across complex, global programs.
Key Responsibilities
Global Publications Strategy
- Lead development and execution of integrated global publication plans.
- Shape scientific narrative and data dissemination strategy across clinical milestones, regulatory events, and lifecycle expansion
- Identify opportunities to maximize data impact across congresses and high-impact journals
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with medical affairs, clinical development, biostatistics, and commercial teams to align on key messages and evidence communication priorities
- Serve as a strategic liaison to senior stakeholders, ensuring publications support broader medical and business objectives
Content Oversight & Scientific Excellence
- Provide senior oversight for all publication deliverables, including:
- Manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations
- Congress strategy and planning
- Ensure content is scientifically rigorous, differentiated, and aligned with publication guidelines (e.g., ICMJE, GPP)
External Engagement
- Build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and external authors
- Oversee author engagement strategy and ensure compliance with authorship and transparency standards
Operational Leadership
- Manage publication timelines, vendors, and agency partners to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery
- Contribute to process optimization and best practices in global publications planning and execution
What They're Looking For
- PhD, MD, or PharmD required
- Significant experience (~15+ years) in publications within biopharma and/or medical communications
- Proven track record leading global publication strategy for late-stage or commercial assets
- Deep expertise in publication planning, congress strategy, and scientific narrative development
- Strong knowledge of ICMJE, GPP, and compliance standards
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with medical affairs, clinical, and commercial teams
- Excellent executive presence, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Prior experience working in high-growth or fast-paced environments strongly preferred
