About the Role
We are seeking a Senior C# Software Engineer to join a Clinical Applications team developing next-generation surgical navigation software used within medical device environments. This is an opportunity to work on a new product initiative, helping shape proof-of-concept and early-stage platform development while contributing to software that supports clinicians during real-world procedures. You'll work closely with cross-functional R&D teams including software, systems, imaging, quality, and product engineering to deliver innovative clinical applications that form part of a broader surgical ecosystem. The role is highly hands-on and suited to engineers who enjoy building new functionality, solving complex technical challenges, and influencing technical direction from an early stage.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop high-performance applications using C#, .NET 8, and modern .NET technologies
* Design and deliver features supporting surgical navigation and clinical workflow applications
* Collaborate with stakeholders to translate evolving requirements into robust software solutions
* Contribute to a modern microservices-based architecture and cloud-connected medical device ecosystem
* Design and develop secure APIs and integrations using REST and gRPC
* Support interoperability with clinical systems and imaging platforms, including DICOM-based workflows
* Work closely with software, systems, product, and quality teams throughout the development lifecycle
* Contribute to application modernisation, scalability, security, and platform performance improvements
* Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and feature delivery planning * Work within CI/CD pipelines and modern DevSecOps development practices
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong commercial experience with: o C# o .NET / .NET 8 o Object-oriented design and software architectureo REST API development
* Experience developing complex, production-grade software applications
* Strong understanding of multithreading, asynchronous programming, and performance optimisation
* Experience working within Agile software development environments ,Ability to operate effectively within evolving product requirements and fast-paced development cycles
* Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams Desirable Experience * Medical device, healthcare, or other regulated industry experience
* Surgical navigation, clinical applications, or healthcare software
* DICOM, HL7, or FHIRintegrations
* Microservices and distributed systems architectures
* Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes * gRPC and event-driven architectures
* CI/CD automation and DevSecOps practices * Secure SDLC and application security principles
* Experience with imaging systems, video processing, visualisation technologies, or GPU-accelerated applications
* Exposure to DirectX or graphics-intensive software development
* Knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA 510(k), or similar medical device standards
