Sales Specialist - Commercial Life Sciences (Midwest/Chicago)

We are partnering with our client, an innovative leader in the Commercial Life Sciences sector, to find a driven Sales Specialist to join our client's team. This permanent role is based in the Chicago area and will suit a true hunter who thrives on winning new business and building long-term relationships in a technical, scientific environment.

The Opportunity

As a Sales Specialist, you will focus on selling analytical instruments and related solutions across the life sciences market, working closely with decision-makers on capital expenditure (capex) projects. You will be field-based in the Midwest, with regular travel to customer sites to understand their needs and position our client's offerings effectively.

Key Skills & Experience

• Life Sciences - Understanding of the life sciences environment and customer landscape to engage credibly with technical stakeholders.
• Sales - Proven ability to generate leads, manage a pipeline, and close deals, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
• Hunter mentality - Proactive, tenacious approach to identifying new opportunities, opening doors, and developing fresh accounts.
• Analytical Instruments - Experience selling or working with analytical instrumentation, enabling you to discuss technical features and benefits with confidence.
• Analytical capex experience - Background in capital equipment sales, including longer sales cycles and complex, multi-stakeholder decisions.
• Travel readiness - Willing and able to travel regularly across the Midwest to visit clients and prospects.
• Location: Midwest/Chicago - Based in the Midwest, ideally near Chicago, to effectively cover the territory.
