Business Development Director, HEOR Services
About the Role
A growing healthcare consulting organization is seeking a driven, relationship-focused sales professional to build and expand its Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) services business. This is a hands-on role with direct accountability for pipeline generation, new business development, and long-term account growth.

The successful candidate will partner with emerging and established biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device organizations seeking evidence-generation and market access support. This includes real-world evidence studies, value communication strategies, economic modeling, and outcomes research to inform reimbursement, payer,
and formulary decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient business developer who understands the payer and health technology assessment (HTA) landscape and can translate complex client needs into customized HEOR solutions.

Scope of the Role
Reports to: Commercial Leadership
Territory: Key Life Sciences Markets
Environment: Complex, relationship-driven B2B services organization with consultative sales cycles and multiple stakeholders across Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of HEOR opportunities, proactively advancing prospects through the sales process
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential clients, particularly organizations preparing for product launches, payer negotiations, reimbursement initiatives, or HTA submissions
  • Develop strategic business development plans that effectively communicate the value of HEOR and evidence-generation capabilities, including real-world evidence studies, economic modeling, systematic literature reviews, value dossiers, and patient-centered outcomes research
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers across target accounts
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and events to strengthen market visibility and generate new business opportunities
  • Maintain a strong understanding of evolving HTA requirements, payer dynamics, evidence-generation trends, and the competitive landscape

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in life sciences services sales with direct exposure to HEOR, real-world evidence, market access, health policy, or related scientific consulting services
  • Strong understanding of the HEOR buyer landscape, including Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs, clinical, and managed care stakeholders
  • Experience partnering with both emerging biotech and large pharmaceutical organizations
  • Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and closing complex opportunities involving multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build and grow a book of business through proactive business development efforts

Location & Travel

  • Fully remote within the United States
  • Travel required for client meetings, industry conferences, and business development activities
