QC manager - Interim

We are looking for a strong people leader to stabilise and re-energise a critical QC team during a transition period.
Purpose of the Role
This is a hands-on transition role focused on providing immediate leadership, structure, and stability within the in-process control laboratory.
As Interim Manager, Quality Control, you step in at a pivotal moment to bring clarity, rebuild team cohesion, and re-establish performance standards. You are a visible presence on the lab floor, leading from the front, quickly gaining trust, and creating an environment where expectations are clear and accountability is consistent.
Your focus is to steady the team, improve engagement, and ensure continuity of operations, while setting the foundation for the incoming permanent leader. For the right individual, there is potential to transition into the permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate leadership and direction to a team of lab analysts and specialists
- Stabilise team dynamics, improving engagement, morale, and accountability
- Ensure continuity of in-process testing to support manufacturing operations
- Act as the first point of contact for operational issues, making quick and pragmatic decisions
- Reinforce GMP compliance, safety (SHE), and quality standards
- Assess team structure and performance gaps; implement short-term improvements
- Resolve deviations (e.g., OOS) and drive root cause investigations
- Bring structure, prioritisation, and clarity in a fast-paced environment
- Act as a key interface between QC and Manufacturing, strengthening alignment
- Support a smooth handover to the incoming permanent manager
Your Profile
- Proven experience in leading teams in QC, laboratory, or manufacturing environments
- Strong emotional intelligence and people leadership skills
- Experience working within a GMP-regulated environment
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach-able to deliver impact quickly
- Confident operating in ambiguous or changing situations
- Strong stakeholder management across shop floor and senior leadership
- Ability to stabilise teams and improve performance rapidly
- A calm, structured presence during periods of change
- Dutch language skills strongly preferred
